Dresden Convention on Tour in Berlin

The tour demonstrated that it is possible not only to showcase a city, but also to bring it to life. For two days, Berlin served as the backdrop for Dresden’s unique atmosphere and innovative spirit, and the response from the guests was overwhelming. The “Dresden Convention on Tour” has thus successfully demonstrated that Dresden is recognised as an attractive MICE destination even far beyond its city limits.

On 27 and 28 August 2024, we at Dresden Convention Service brought the unique charm of Saxony’s capital straight to Berlin. With the exclusive ‘Dresden Convention on Tour’ event, the capital was transformed into a showcase for Dresden’s diversity as an events and conference destination. The highlight was the luxurious GourmetLiner, a mobile restaurant bus which served as an event venue, treating guests to culinary delights.

The aim of the tour was to give Berliners an impressive insight into the possibilities Dresden offers as an event venue. The guests enjoyed not only regional specialities but also an extraordinary edutainment programme. Karl August Ferdinand Lingner, a visionary Dresden entrepreneur, took the guests on a journey through the city’s history of invention. From the world-famous Odol mouthwash to the filter bag – the stories behind these innovations captivated the guests and highlighted why Dresden is regarded as a city of creative minds and inventors.
