Getting around easily in the conference city

Dresden offers short journeys and a very well-developed transport network. Thanks to an extensive network of buses, trams and suburban rail services, attendees at conferences and events can get around with ease. Many hotels, event venues and tourist attractions are situated close to one another and are easily accessible.

Public transport in Dresden

Dresden’s tram, S-Bahn and bus network runs every 10 minutes during the day, taking you from A to B. Tickets are available at many stops, on board the trams and trains, and conveniently via the DVB mobil app – which offers journey planning, real-time departures, disruption updates and an interactive map. At ticket machines, you can pay for tickets contactlessly using Google Pay and Apple Pay.

Congress Ticket for events

With the Congress Ticket from the Upper Elbe Transport Association (VVO), business travellers can get around for just 4 euros a day. The KongressTicket for the Dresden fare zone is available for up to 250 people; special rates are available for larger groups. It is significantly cheaper than a standard day ticket – making it a practical solution for participants’ travel needs. We’d be happy to advise you on this – please get in touch!

Sharing schemes

The MOBIbike bike-sharing scheme run by Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe (DVB) provides around 1,000 hire bikes in Dresden – an ideal complement to buses and trains. Bikes can be picked up and returned flexibly at MOBIpoints, on ‘blue streets’ and in designated flex zones throughout the city.


For groups and events, DresdenBike offers guided cycle tours, team events and bespoke cycling packages. This provides an active way for participants – particularly at conferences, incentive trips and supporting programmes – to discover Dresden and the Elbe region together.


Whether for a quick trip through the city centre or as an experience-based group activity, bike-sharing and hire schemes in Dresden offer conference guests a flexible way to get around.

Electric mobility

A third of accommodation providers already have their own charging point (as of March 2024), meaning that charging facilities are available at many venues. It is also possible to incorporate electric shuttles into your event in Dresden.
 

Taxi, shuttle and chauffeur services

There are numerous transport services available in Dresden for private transfers.

Accessible mobility

Public transport in Dresden is designed to be accessible. Low-floor vehicles make it easy to board. In addition, the ‘DVB mobil’ app allows various mobility impairments to be taken into account when planning a route.
