Winter highlights in Dresden
Winter-themed social programmes create special opportunities to meet and mingle away from the conference room. Set amidst the historic old town, the Elbe river landscape and a wealth of cultural diversity, Dresden offers numerous opportunities to complement a professional conference programme with a touch of atmosphere. Whether it’s a group activity, a cultural evening or an enjoyable excursion: the options can be tailored to suit the group size, occasion and timeframe.

Winter activities for teams
Shared experiences add variety to the programme of events and foster interaction within the group. Ice skating, curling or winter city treasure hunts are ideal both as a relaxed way to round off a conference day and as a team-building event in their own right.
The Weißer Hirsch concert venue boasts over 1,250 m² of ice, separate curling lanes and a cosy winter hut. From November to January, the Christmas Garden Dresden at Pillnitz Palace & Park glows with a magical splendour. Interactive escape games and themed rallies through Dresden city centre also provide opportunities for teamwork, communication and solving puzzles together.

Indulgence in Dresden
Wineries, restaurants and historic sites in Dresden’s Elbland region combine regional culinary culture with exceptional event venues. Guided tours and tastings can be organised as standalone incentive activities or as part of a multi-part programme of events.
Evening culture and entertainment
Theatre and dinner shows offer a wealth of opportunities for an emotional finale to the day’s events. Dresden’s winter programme ranges from classical theatre to comedies and lavishly staged shows featuring music, acrobatics and fine dining.
Depending on the size of your group, you can attend regular performances or plan bespoke arrangements including a reception, dinner and a subsequent visit to the show. As programmes and productions change, the links below will take you directly to the current seasonal offerings.

Festive discoveries
During the Advent and winter season, Dresden can be experienced from a unique perspective on themed city tours. Historical tales, regional traditions and culinary discoveries can be tailored to suit individual groups and event programmes.
A boat trip on the Elbe offers event guests a unique view of Dresden’s city skyline and the Elbe Valley. Seasonal boat trips can be incorporated into the event programme as a relaxing way to round off the day, a shared activity or an unusual transfer.

Christmas markets as part of the supporting programme
Germany’s oldest Christmas market, situated in the heart of the historic old town, is the Striezelmarkt in Dresden. Here you’ll find wooden crafts from the Ore Mountains, Herrnhut stars and the original Dresden Christstollen. Not far away are the Christmas market at Dresden’s Frauenkirche and the Advent celebrations on Neumarkt with the Kurrende carol singers. The Medieval Christmas takes place in the Stallhof of the Royal Palace, where jugglers, stilt-walkers, storytellers and historical craftspeople bring the late Middle Ages to life. The Augustusmarkt is an international Christmas market. It commemorates Augustus the Strong and the legendary “Zeithain Pleasure Camp” of 1730, combining regional tradition with international Christmas culture.
