2027 European Indoor Rowing Championships

Dresden is further cementing its position as a host of high-profile sporting events: with the 2027 European Rowing Indoor Championships (ERICH), the Saxon capital is once again bringing a top international event to the city.
After being held online in recent years, the championships are returning as an in-person event, bringing athletes, federations, partners and fans from across Europe to the Saxon capital. From 22 to 24 January 2027, Europe’s indoor rowing elite will gather at the BallsportARENA Dresden.

 

Robert Sens, Director of Competitive Sport at the German Rowing Association: “This is the first time the European Rowing Indoor Championships will be held in Germany – a special occasion for our sport and a strong signal for the rowing tradition in our country. For the German Rowing Association, it is a fantastic opportunity to showcase elite sport, the promotion of young talent and the diversity of our sport to a wide audience, and to highlight the growing importance of indoor rowing in Europe.”

 

The awarding of the ERICH 2027 highlights Dresden’s growing importance as a venue for national and international sporting events. The city thus joins the ranks of established European cities. In addition to the European Championships themselves, the event incorporates other formats such as national championships, junior competitions and a corporate cup.
This combination of elite and grassroots sport not only strengthens the local sporting landscape but also creates additional opportunities for exchange, networking and participation.
