Location news: Heinz Steyer Stadium

Modern and multifunctional sports and event centre

The Heinz Steyer Stadium is in the final stages of its complete refurbishment. The official opening will take place on 30 August 2024. The stadium is one of the few arenas in Germany that meets the requirements for national and international athletics championships.

  • Main areas of use: Athletics, American football and football

  • Seating capacity: 10,400, of which 5,400 are roofed and 5,000 unroofed

  • Expandability: can be extended to up to 15,000 seats using mobile grandstands in the corner areas

  • Climate-friendly: 2,000 square metres of photovoltaic system on the grandstand roofs
