Residenzschloss
The place of origin and still the centre of the Dresden State Art Collections is the Residence Palace in the heart of the old town. A large part of the collections united in the museum association can be traced back to the Kunstkammer of the Saxon electors and kings who once lived here.
Dresden’s Royal Palace offers three distinctive event spaces: the Small Courtyard, the Palace Chapel and the Hans Nadler Hall. Covered by a transparent membrane roof, the Small Courtyard serves as a central foyer during the day and an atmospheric event venue for up to 300 guests in the evening. Events can also be combined with a museum visit. Built between 1551 and 1553, the Palace Chapel combines historic architecture with modern lighting and sound technology. Its reconstructed ribbed vault creates exceptional acoustics, making it a unique setting for concerts and events. Located on the first floor near the Green Vault, the Hans Nadler Hall is equipped with presentation technology and a lectern. It is well suited for receptions, conferences, film screenings and press events.
