In terms of geographical size, Dresden is Germany’s fourth largest city but at the same time very easy to navigate with short distances between conference hotels, venues, and cultural hotspots. Everything can be easily managed either on foot, by public transport, rental bikes, or e-scooters!

Efficient public transport for easy travel

Bus, S-Bahn, tram

Dresden’s public transport network is comprehensive, reasonably priced, and accessible with a seamless network of trams, S-Bahn trains and busses getting you from A to B every 10 minutes during daytime. Tickets are available at many stops, on board the trams and S-Bahn trains or via the DVB mobile app. The latter also provides timetables, real-time departures, disruption reports and an interactive map.

Contactless payment (Google Pay, Apple Pay) is possible at all ticket machines.

Congress ticket

Even cheaper by bus and train

Dresden offers a special congress ticket for only EUR 4 per day, available for up to 250 people or more, at special conditions. Compared to the regular day ticket, it is significantly cheaper and thus the perfect option to make getting around Dresden for your conference attendees as easy and environmentally friendly as possible.

MOBI Bikes

The "MOBIbike" bike-sharing system is run by Dresden public transport (DVB), offering 1,000 MOBIbikes as a practical and environmentally friendly add-on to train and bus services. They can be picked up and returned at special MOBIpoints. Detailed information on how to use them can be found on the DVB website.

Taxis & Chauffeur Service

FunkTAXI Dresden operates 500 vehicles and 100 taxi rank, providing a fast round the clock service. Taxis can easily be ordered through a mobile taxi app. Taxi phone number in Dresden: +49 351 211 211

Dresden's limousine, chauffeur and bus companies provide individual mobility with their limousines, vans, midi buses, coaches and sightseeing buses.

Accessibility

Mobility applies to everyone in Dresden. For accessibility, low-floor vehicles are used throughout the public transport system and the DVB mobile app allows for route planning using filters for various mobility restrictions.
