Dresden Xperience

Dresden Xperience
Two special places. A fascinating experience.

With Dresden Xperience, a fascinating and unique journey into Dresden's history awaits you at two of the most important places in the city's history. Experience Fortress Xperience below the Brühl Terrace and Zwinger Xperience in the Arched Gallery L in the Dresden Zwinger. Both are only a 10-minute walk away from each other and are not so much exhibitions as EXPERIENCES. They convey the history of the respective complex with modern audiovisual technology and highly emotional, immersive dramaturgy.

Fortress Xperience
Festivals. Dramas. Catastrophes. Closer than ever.

Under the Brühl Terrace hides an unforgettable experience. Behind metre-thick walls, Duke Moritz takes you into the dark vaults and on an adventurous journey through 450 years of Dresden's eventful history. With breathtaking 360-degree projections and atmospheric audio technology, you will experience the history of the old vaults. Listen carefully to the adventures that Duke Moritz, the builder of what was once Germany's most modern bastion fortress, has to tell you. The completely new, multimedia experience on 1500 square metres will take you out of your everyday life - right into the past. The lift on the Brühl Terrace takes you on an adventurous journey through time.

Zwinger Xperience
Power. Epochs. Dimensions. A journey through time.

Experience the Dresden Zwinger as never before and let yourself be transported to a time of exuberant life. Exuberant parties, lavish dresses, dissolute art: it's 1709, high baroque. In the midst of it all, Augustus the Strong commissions a magnificent building. For a building that would remind all visitors to the city of the wealth of the Elector of Saxony and King of Poland. Matthäus Pöppelmann and Balthasar Permoser build the structure between the inner and outer city walls, which stands for Dresden like no other. The Zwinger still characterises the cityscape today. It stands for glamorous times, power and splendour. But hardly anyone knows its original functions.
Was the Zwinger still to become this large? And where has the Semper Opera House gone? You won't believe your eyes when you hover over the roofs of the city and see the unfinished plans. From a fairground to a baroque magnificent building to utopian plans to the Orangery: fascinating panorama projections, a thrilling virtual reality station and the latest techniques show you in five worlds how the Zwinger has changed over the course of time. Be a guest at the wedding of Friedrich August II, marvel at glamorous parades, discover the exotic splendour of orange trees and let yourself be whisked away to a time of exuberant life and debauched celebrations. Go on an unprecedented journey through time and experience the Zwinger as never before.
