verbaende.com-INFOTAG in Berlin: The future of association events

In recent years, the event landscape has been turned upside down and associations have had to reinvent themselves to continue to provide quality meetings for their members. Meetings, general assemblies, conferences, conventions and trade fairs - all these formats have been affected by the pandemic. But the return to normality is more complex than expected. Digitisation remains an integral part, but hybrid events pose a challenge.

The question that arises is: How can associations score with their events in the future? At the recent verbaende.com-INFOTAG in Berlin, which serves as a platform for the exchange of experiences and ideas, this very topic was explored.

We from Dresden Convention Service were present together with our partner, the MESSE DRESDEN, at this event and presented Dresden as an innovative destination, which is ideal for association events.

The event offered space for diverse discussions and suggestions. In particular, experiences with digital formats were highlighted intensively. While the pandemic highlighted the need for virtual meetings and conferences, it became clear that face-to-face contact is still invaluable. The challenge now is to combine the advantages of both worlds. Participants agreed that a flexible approach is crucial. Future events need to be both physically and digitally engaging to meet members' needs.

Associations are determined to continue enriching their members through quality meetings and together shape a promising future for the events landscape.
