- Event News
Dresden is further expanding its position as a host of top-class sporting events: With the European Rowing Indoor Championships (ERICH) 2027, the Saxon state capital is once again bringing a top international event to the city.
After the last few years as an online event, the title fights are returning as an in-person event and will bring athletes, federations, partners and fans from all over Europe to the Saxon state capital. From January 22 to 24, 2027, the European indoor rowing elite will meet in the BallsportARENA Dresden.
Robert Sens, Director of Competitive Sports at the German Rowing Federation: "The European Rowing Indoor Championships will be held in Germany for the first time - a special event for our sport and a strong signal for the rowing tradition in our country. For the German Rowing Federation, it is a great opportunity to present top-class sport, youth development and the diversity of our sport to a broad audience and to underline the growing importance of indoor rowing in Europe."
The awarding of ERICH 2027 underlines Dresden's growing importance as a venue for national and international sporting events. In addition to the European Championships themselves, the event will integrate other formats such as national championships, junior competitions and a company cup.
This combination of top-class and popular sport not only strengthens the local sporting landscape, but also creates additional opportunities for exchange, networking and participation.
