Over 230 guests experienced an evening full of aha moments, lively presentations and surprising props: Footballs, seahorses, mangoes. An evening to remember.
In the end, two participants were particularly impressive:
Artem Govorukhin (HZDR) secured 1st place with a presentation on FLASH radiotherapy - a novel method of cancer treatment that destroys tumor tissue while sparing healthy tissue. Presenter Eileen Mägel commented afterwards: "I will never look at a mango with the same eyes again."
Second place and the audience award went to Marco Gustav (TU Dresden), who showed with humor and precision how artificial intelligence can support doctors in everyday clinical practice.
Both will represent Dresden at the FameLab Germany final in Bielefeld in June. They will receive professional presentation training beforehand.
Dresden as host
Dresden was once again proud to host a regional competition in 2025 - together with Bremerhaven, Bielefeld, Karlsruhe and Regensburg.
The Sächsische Zeitung newspaper aptly summarized the evening: "On Sunday evening, science took over the stage at the Kleines Haus in Dresden."
A big thank you to all participants, visitors, jury members and partners who made this special evening possible. We are keeping our fingers crossed for Artem Govorukhin and Marco Gustav for the final in Bielefeld!
